After serving in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1968 (during which time he completed a Tour of Duty in Vietnam), Dave was honorably discharged and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Muhlenberg College. He opened his own accounting firm, Stortz & Associates, in 1979.

Dave is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and also holds a Series 7 license as a Registered Securities Representative in 27 states. He also holds a Series 66 license and is licensed in Pennsylvania as a Life, Fixed Annuity, Accident and Health, Variable Life and Variable Annuity Insurance Agent, and is a member of the AICPA and PICPA.

After earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Accounting from Kutztown University, Cindy joined the Stortz & Associates team in 1984. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and is a member of both the AICPA and PICPA.

Cindy’s area of expertise includes estate planning and preservation and tax services. She says, “My passion is estate planning – helping our clients prepare for the future and provide for their families. I can help ensure that their most precious assets, their family members, are provided for.”

In her free time, Cindy serves as Treasurer for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley. The organization is a “Lehigh Valley-based non-profit focused on making a difference in the lives of children diagnosed with cancer and their families through ongoing programming, the fun of friendship, quality time with family and friends and a journey that is not defined by your cancer.” Cindy has previously served on the organization’s Board of Directors, holding positions such as President, Vice-President, and Past President.

Cindy also contributes to other initiatives in her community, including serving on the Steering Committee for “100 People Who Care of the Lehigh Valley”. In 2022, she joined the Board of Directors for Regency Tower South in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She currently serves as their Treasurer as well. In 2024, Cindy joined the finance committee at Brookside Country Club.

Cindy enjoys spending time with her family, and her hobbies include reading, sports (she’s a “Steagles” fan – Eagles and Steelers!), and traveling.

Jon has been a member of the Stortz & Associates team since 1994. He graduated from Kutztown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration – Accounting and became a licensed Certified Public Accountant in 1997.

Jon holds a Series 7 license as a Registered Securities Representative and is licensed in Pennsylvania as a Life, Fixed Annuity, Accident and Health, Variable Life and Variable Annuity Insurance Agent. He is also a member of the AICPA and PICPA. Areas of expertise include “taxes, helping people, and everything finance!”

Outside of the office, Jon is a devoted family man who loves spending time with his wife, Linda, and their three children. When he’s not with his family, you can often find him on the golf course, enjoying the outdoors, or engaging in various fitness activities to stay active and healthy. He believes in a balanced life that prioritizes both his professional responsibilities and his personal well-being.

A team member at Stortz & Associates since 1994, Jennifer graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant since 1997.

Jennifer holds a Series 7 license as a Registered Securities Representative and is licensed in Pennsylvania as a Life, Fixed Annuity, Accident and Health, Variable Life and Variable Annuity Insurance Agent. She is also a member of the AICPA and PICPA. Her areas of expertise include Business Advisory Services, Personal Financial Planning, and Cash Management – things she considers to be “Lifestage Planning”. “I enjoy doing work that is rewarding and challenging; focusing on client’s goals and desires, and providing effective solutions.”

Jennifer and her husband Micheal have two children, Macy and Reid. Jennifer enjoys walking, the outdoors, quality time with her family, and reading during quiet evenings at home. Jennifer is also active in our community as a proud advocate to encourage services and supports for people with autism and their families.

John joined the Stortz & Associates team in 1990. He attended Bloomsburg University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant since 1991.

John holds a Series 7 license as a Registered Securities Representative and is licensed in Pennsylvania as a Life, Fixed Annuity, Accident and Health, Variable Life and Variable Annuity Insurance Agent. He is also a member of the AICPA & PICPA. John’s area of expertise includes “helping our clients and their businesses achieve their dreams and goals.”

He and his wife Jan have two children and he enjoys playing golf and raising his kids. John also adds that he has been a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan since birth!

Melissa joined our firm in the summer of 2017. She graduated cum laude from Alvernia University after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Management. Melissa has over 20 years of accounting experience in the construction and automotive industries.

Her areas of expertise include auditing, financial statement preparation, and providing excellent customer service.

Melissa is active with the St. Ann Church in Emmaus and serves on their Fall Fest Committee. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, baking, and decorating.

Sam Ernst joined the Stortz & Associates team in 2017. In 2021, he graduated from Ursinus College with a Bachelor of the Arts in English. He now runs Stortz & Associates’ mailing list and social media accounts. His goal is to make taxes easy for anyone to understand.

At Ursinus, Sam was involved with the literary magazine, The Lantern. He was also a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society, and a Fellow with the Parlee Center for Science and the Common Good. In his free time, Sam enjoys creative writing. His travel memoir, “Douglas Adams’ Guide to Florida,” won the Lantern’s 2021 Creager Prize.

Amy joined our team in September 2012. She continues to enjoy the various aspects of her job but especially loves the daily interaction with our clients. Her goal is to provide each client with the customer service they deserve.

Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with her friends and family including her husband, Eric, their sons, Ryan and Rhys, and their chocolate lab, Sophie.

Laura joined our firm in August 2018. She graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management.

Laura holds a Series 7 license as a Registered Securities Representative and is licensed in Pennsylvania as a Life, Fixed Annuity, Accident and Health, Variable Life and Variable Annuity Insurance Agent. She is also a licensed Notary Public in the State of Pennsylvania.

Her areas of expertise include providing personalized customer service, with an attention to detail to assist clients in any way possible. She looks forward to meeting our clients in person and getting to know them when they come into the office.

Laura enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband Joe and young niece. She loves to travel anywhere and everywhere, and is passionate about animals. One of her retirement goals is to operate an animal shelter!

Paul Iannace joined the Stortz team in August 2024. He graduated from Kutztown University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration – Accounting and is an Enrolled Agent as of 2023. His areas of expertise are individual and small business taxes, and complex tax situations, along with a light background in trust and estate return preparation. He also specializes in tax resolution, including responding to IRS and state notices, filing appeals, and developing strategies to resolve issues.

When he’s not at work, Paul unwinds by spending quality time with his family. He enjoys traveling with his wife, Amber, and considers himself a foodie. He’s also a thrill-seeker, taking in the great outdoors by skydiving, swimming with sharks, and climbing volcanoes!

Melissa joined the Stortz & Associates team in 2015. She earned an MBA from Penn State Capital College, as well as graduating from Albright College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance, and from Reading Area Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Accounting.

She considers her area of expertise to be individual tax services, saying, “I enjoy working with numbers and helping people find ways to minimize their taxes.”

Melissa enjoys attending sporting events with her son and also serves as the Committee Chair for his Cub Scout Pack. In her free time, she likes to spend time with family and friends, read, and travel.

Natalie graduated from Kutztown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration – Accounting and joined the Stortz & Associates team in 2004.

Natalie’s area of expertise lies within small business: business taxes, strategic planning, financial statement preparation, and budgeting. Natalie says “I love being able to provide a service to our clients that makes them feel better about their business and helps them run their business more efficiently, where they can see a difference.”

Outside of the office Natalie enjoys spending quality time with her husband Doug and their son Bryson along with their family & friends. She is very passionate about her sports teams (NY Jets and NY Mets) and traveling anywhere a car can take you!

Lisa joined our firm in the summer of 2021. She attended Jamestown Community College, where she majored in Business. She has over 30 years of experience in Insurance / Accounts Receivable. She’s happy to be a part of the Stortz team and looks forward to helping people in any way she can.

Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband, Craig, their four children, and their two dogs. She loves to go to the beach when she can. She enjoys being outside and doing all sorts of outdoor activities. Her hobbies include walking, gardening, hiking, and fitness.

Derek Strunk would like to extend a good evening. He uses email every day. Derek loves the Philadelphia Eagles. He enjoys spending time with friends and family, painting, and hiking. Derek has been with the team since 2012 and is honored to work at Stortz and Associates.
